Are you a Climate Changemaker? Or do you want to become one?
Get inspired and informed on the impact of extreme weather on communities. And how climate-proof design can prepare us for the future!

The International University Climate Alliance’s #ClimateTalks Global Festival is a series of virtual conversations about climate issues around the world to help students, staff and the public learn about the many ways that universities are creating climate action. The overarching theme for 2022 is “Extreme Weather and the communities who live within these systems.”

On October 27th the TU Delft hosted the European #ClimateTalks at the Green Village Co-Creation Center. Our speakers examined the impact of extreme weather on communities and discuss how we can address these phenomena through methods like climate-proof design A discussion on some of the associated challenges and opportunities in preparing for the future will follow.
The event ended with drinks and networking.

This #ClimateTalk is part of a hybrid series around the world with an aim to improve the understanding of climate research with climate changemakers. TU Delft’s Dr. Fransje Hooimeijer has delivered a talk explaining how communities in delta systems are vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and how careful urban planning can help these communities plan for the future, to be shown at the 2022 Impact X Summit in Sydney, Australia.
