Abstract
As the energy transition is accelerating, hydrogen is seen as a key contributor in decarbonising energy-intensive sectors. Besides that, hydrogen could be used as a sustainable fuel in the transport sector and as feedstock in other chemical industry. Together with partners RWE is currently pressing ahead with around 30 green hydrogen projects in Europe at various demonstration and testing facilities. You are invited for this lunch lecture where Pieter de Jong, Program Manager Offshore Hydrogen RWE Renewables, will present how hydrogen fits within themes as energy security & independence, grid congestion and balancing and industry transition.

Short bio of the presenter

/home/fl/Scaricati/Ik (2).jpgIk (2)“Hydrogen is part of the integrated energy system and offshore hydrogen production is the way to scale up production”.

With a background in mechanical engineering, I started my career in shipping and entered the power market 22 years ago. Five years ago I decided to put my efforts in developing a sustainable integrated energy system with hydrogen and, more specifically, offshore hydrogen production as a key stepping corner stone. Together with a highly specialized team within RWE Renewables we are working on several projects.

I am based in the Netherlands and I work in an international team located in the Netherlands,  Germany, UK and France.
