UTQ-Teach | 8 June

08 June 2022 09:30 till 13:30 - By: Teaching Academy | Add to my calendar

This blended UTQ-module starts with a kick off-meeting in which the requirements of the teaching session will be discussed, where you design your teaching session and where you will receive peer-feedback on your learning activity and learning materials.

The focus of TEACH is on the delivery of an active teaching session. You will deliver an activating teaching session to your peers and trainer after which you will receive feedback both on the content and presentation of your session. Furthermore, you are expected to provide a teaching activity to a real class of students, part of a real course, that you need to organise yourself.

By the end of UTQ TEACH, you should be able to:

  1. Develop and deliver a teaching session, in which you engage the students through active learning;
  2. Evaluate your teaching session, based on your own observations and feedback from others;
  3. Improve your teaching practice:
    • Reflect based on self-evaluation and feedback from others.
    • Define concrete points to improve.

The cost of this UTQ module is 700 euro and can be charged to your faculty. All sessions are compulsory. Please do not sign up for a course if you cannot attend all the sessions.

We do not recommend taking two (or more) UTQ courses in the same period, due to the high workload.

Note: you must complete UTQ DEVELOP before you can take UTQ TEACH.
Do NOT sign up for UTQ TEACH unless you are teaching either during or within an 8 weeks of the UTQ Teach course ending**.

If you’re in doubt what would be a good timing for this module for you, please feel free to contact the module coordinator A.A.E.Luising@tudelft.nl.

**Since one of the assignments for TEACH is to apply what you’ve learnt during the course sessions in one of your own classes it’s highly recommended you take module TEACH when you do have the opportunity to teach. This real-life teaching session should ideally take place shortly after the last course session of TEACH. If you don’t have this opportunity you might consider taking the TEACH module at another moment since you can only complete TEACH with this real-life session.
