"Combined Attitude and Position Control of Large-Scale Constellations Using System Level Synthesis"
The `New Space' or `Space 4.0' mentality is gaining in popularity and is at the basis of the multi-spacecraft missions used for satellite internet and Earth observations. This new approach requires new control methods that scale well to thousands of satellites, which is not available in the literature yet. A possible solution is the System Level Synthesis (SLS) framework, where closed-loop transfer functions are optimised to find the optimal control inputs. This thesis explores if and how SLS can be used in this new domain.
