Minhwa: Korean Painting Workshop

27 May 2023 10:00 till 12:00 - By: Communication | Add to my calendar

Minhwa literally means "painting of the people" or "folk painting". This type of painting was often the work of anonymous artists who kept true to the styles and genres of the past. They contained popular themes such as cranes, rocks, water, clouds, the sun, the moon, pine trees, turtles, insects, and flowers.

Join us for a Saturday morning workshop full of culture and a bit of history. Here you will learn about the origins of this Korean discipline as you work on your own paper fan!

All materials will be provided, and you will take home your own fan painted by you. You will work on a lotus flower painting with an approach and style representative of the discipline.
