The 2018 data assimilation & scientific computing summer school

  • Goal

This summer school aims at data assimilation. It focuses on not only teaching data assimilation theories/algorithms, but also lecturing data assimilation related applications (e.g., atmospheres, oceanography, oil reservoir) and data assimilation related subjects (e.g., remote sensing data, large-scale models, high performance computing).

The summer school is open to master students, PhD students, as well as young researchers.

(Note: The data assimilation summer school was initiated in 2009, by TU Delft by Prof. Arnold Heemink and Prof. Remus Hanea. In year 2018, this summer school is held in China for the first time.)

2 weeks, 30 hours/week, Shandong University ( one of top univ. in China)

 (1)     The entrance date is July 22.

 (2)     Lectures are divided into two main subjects in two weeks.

Week 1: data assimilation theory and algorithms;
Week 2: data assimilation applications and relevant subjects.

The registration is closed.

Note: Registration fee includes meals in Campus, student dormitory (2 persons/per room), culture travelling to Mountain Tai (Tentatively) on July 28, 29, Tai’an city. (Mount Tai is known as the most famous eastern Great Mountain in China)
