Alejandro Castaneda

Since 2022, I have been a Ph.D. student in the BIOLab at Delft University of Technology in collaboration with the Computer Vision and Brinks labs. I have a degree in electronic engineering and a master's in bioengineering.

My research interests lie in studying biological systems using artificial intelligence and utilizing those discoveries to improve our learning algorithms with bio-inspired designs. In particular, I am interested in studying the brain and vision to improve computer vision algorithms. Furthermore, in my current work, I am using prior biophysical knowledge to perform classification, prediction, and segmentation tasks on microscope images and medical imaging.
