Stefano joined the group as postdoc researcher to tackle the challenges of crystal growth, engineering and characterisation of ferroelectric Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs). To do this, he employs unconventional crystallisation techniques (e.g., gel permeation, liquid counter-diffusion, modulated growth) and studies by means of Diffraction and Microscopy analyses the products of the syntheses as well as the structural aspects of ferroelectricity-related behaviours exhibited by the target materials.
He did his PhD at the University of Parma (Italy) working on MOFs modifications and structural studies. His past activities strongly focussed on X-Ray Diffraction and on the characterisation of structural defects of metal-organic materials due to assembly faults during the crystal growth or to post-synthetic treatments.
