Monitoring the perfusion of preterm babies

Preterm babies (24-32 weeks) are very fragile and about 50% develop perinatal brain injury due to inadequate brain perfusion. Current devices for neuro-monitoring to diagnose brain perfusion problems are inadequate, unpractical, or unable to provide objective measurements.

The wearable ultrasound device that we propose directly provides accurate, reliable and timely information for initiation and guidance of intensive care treatment to prevent irreversible brain injuries.
