Using the HOR, the Reactor Institute Delft can perform various irradiations for you. The purpose might be to modify material properties, accelerate aging, induce radioactivity - or any other. Strict legislation is applied throughout when radioactivity is to be induced.
We can irradiate your material with neutrons, high-energy gamma-rays, i.e. photons from the reactor core itself, gamma-ray from an intense 60Co source, positrons from the POSH or from a 22Na source, and pulsed, accelerated electrons from the van der Graaff accelerator.
Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA) is a chemical analysis technique that allows for multi-element concentration determinations through nuclear processes. The Laboratory for INAA is part of the Reactor Institute Delft and offers to perform such analyses for third parties. The laboratory has a non-accredited quality system in accordance with ISO-IEC 17025:2005.
For more information please go to INAA.
A wide range of ionizing radiation detectors can be calibrated at the Reactor Institute Delft.
The knowledge and facilities of RID are available to the Dutch as well as the international community. We can help you if you have any questions, if you need advice, or if you are involved in a project in which radioactivity or ionizing radiation plays a role. You can submit your requests to Jan Okx through our contact page.
