MSc. Buso, A.

Alice Buso is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering.

Academic Background

Alice Buso was born and raised in Italy, where she obtained the Bachelor Degree in Product Design from Politecnico di Torino. In 2017 she moved to the Netherlands to do the Master's in Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology. She discussed her MSc thesis with the title "Improving comfort of autonomous vehicle seats with soft robotic technology", a project carried out in collaboration with BMW.

After her graduation in 2019, she started to work at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering as researcher.

Her work currently focuses on combining soft robotics technology with comfort design. She develops soft robotic sensing and actuating units and tests how their implementation can influence the design of seats with the goal to improve their comfort (vehicle seats and/or mattresses).
