Drs. Colenberg, S.E.
Susanne Colenberg is a PhD candidate working in the IDStudioLab at the Department of Human-Centered Design, Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering.
Academic Background
Susanne holds a research master's degree in Social and Organizational Psychology (Leiden University, 1996) and a design bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture (Royal Academy of Arts, 2009). She integrates both disciplines in research, consultancy and teaching on environmental psychology - in particular in relation to the work environment and aiming at enhancing user wellbeing.
After more than twenty years as a researcher and consultant, she embraced the opportunity to deepen her knowledge and research skills by doing a PhD. Led by her fascination for the impact of space on human experience and behaviour, and her desire to help improve work environments, she focuses her research on positive workplace design. How does interior office space influence social interactions, relationships at work and feelings of belonging, and how could design enhance this social wellbeing?
