MSc. Di Staso, D.
Davide Di Staso is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering. He conducts research on strategies for building data capacity with non-specialist data users.
Academic Background
Davide Di Staso was born Rome, Italy and studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at LUISS Guido Carli, including a four month exchange programme at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
In 2019, he moved to Belgium to study Public Sector Innovation and eGovernance (Master of science). The master, also known as PIONEER (pioneer-master.eu), is a two year Erasmus Mundus programme jointly organized by KU Leuven, University of MĂĽnster, and TalTech. In 2021, while living in Tallinn, he graduated with a thesis on the use of serious games to facilitate learning about open data.
In 2022, he moved to Delft and started his PhD on Strategies for building data capacity, within the EU-funded ODECO project – a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions-Innovative Training Network initiative. Davide's research focuses on the involvement of non-specialist users into the open data ecosystem. His research aims to develop new methodologies to include a broader audience in co-creation with open data.
His PhD project is supervised by Dr. Mulder, I.J., Prof.dr.ir. M.F.W.H.A. (Marijn) Janssen, and Dr. Rikke Magnussen.
