Ir. Doucet, E.T.M.
Noor Doucet is a Lecturer at the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering.
Noor has studied at IDE in the nineties and graduated with professor Jan Jacobs. Ever since she has been working as an industrial designer. She worked at design agencies (Leiden and Milan) and production companies. Also, she started her own studio twice. Noor her portfolio includes various projects: healthcare, lighting, (office) furniture, bathroom products, domestic appliances, technical textiles, public design, B2B and B2C. Her product development projects span the entire design process, resulting into innovations, patents and awards (Red Dot, IF, GIO, DDA). During her career, sustainability has become increasingly relevant to her and her projects (Cradle to Cradle and IDE Masterclass Design for the Circular Economy).
In 2022 Noor joined the Sustainable Design Engineering department and currently is design coach in the bachelor programme. Her objectives in her role as design coach is to guide students towards a multidisciplinary approach, to inspire them in thinking creatively, to keep them monitor the quality of the design and to learn the students to communicate their design in a convincing way. Above all, she motivates students adding enthusiasm for the design profession. She is happy to share her experience and knowledge and to be inspired by both students and faculty colleagues.

Noor is coaching groups of bachelor students in order to help them progress through the various stages of the design process and provide design methods, tools and techniques. Her focus is on creative problem solving and integrated product design. She is involved in the following courses:

Part time freelance industrial designer at Sunbow Design
Noor is helping companies with product concept design. The starting point is a relevant, sustainable and innovative idea. Her activities focus on the initial phase of the design process: developing product-market potential, design vision and guidelines, product identity and technical principles. Solutions are visualized in CAD models and renders. With Noor her all round product development experience and professional network, she advises in advancing the product realization.
