Dr. Hajiamiri, M.
Milad Hajiamiri is a Postdoctoral Researcher at TU Delft, where he currently explores co-creation practices in strategic design contexts as part of a partnership with RAI Amsterdam, Netherlands's largest event center. He is particularly interested in the social practice theory approach, which he applies to understand the complex interrelationships between practitioners, audiences, materials, and spaces of creative practices.
Academic Background
Prior to joining TU Delft, Milad gained extensive experience investigating the social environments that support co-creation practices in web-based collective design platforms and open innovation firms and communities, including organizations such as OpenIDEO and Quirky. Milad's research has delved into the dynamics of these communities and their role in shaping the design process, gaining valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges of co-creation practices. Additionally, his research has focused on the locus of creative practices, where individuals, communities, and crowds from various backgrounds engage in a diverse range of creative activities including design, performing arts, and visual communication. As an industrial designer and design educator, Milad possesses a wealth of experience managing ideation, conceptualization, prototyping, visualization, and evaluative phases of design processes. Alongside teaching design studio courses and carrying out university-industry collaboration projects, he has also worked on a number of prestigious architectural and design projects, including the Capital Hill Residence in Moscow, which was executed in collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects, where he played a crucial role as a liaison between the fabrication process and the design process of the interior design of the residence.
