Dr. Kermavnar, T.

Tjaša Kermavnar is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering. Tjaša's main research interests lie at the intersection of medical and social sciences with design in the broadest sense, aiming to enable people to live a healthier and more fulfilling life.

At the moment, she is conducting a study to gain detailed insight into the psychological aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to inform design approaches that could help improve people's coping with pandemic-related stress.

Academic Background

Tjaša holds a medical degree, a bachelor's degree in industrial design, and a doctoral degree in ergonomics. Her doctoral and prior postdoctoral research focused on exoskeletons and 3D printing of medical devices. She has taught design and ergonomics at the university and secondary-school level, and wrote and illustrated the first Slovenian textbook on human-centred design. Tjaša also co-authored two handbooks involving ergonomics, and published several scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
