Dr. arch. Puerari, E.

Biography

Dr. Emma Puerari is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Delft University of Technology. She is working on the “Participatory City Making” project since October 2016, developed in collaboration between TU Delft, DRIFT (https://www.drift.eur.nl) and the Hogeschool Rotterdam. The aim of Emma's research within the “Participatory City Making” project is to better understand what barriers and enablers that obstruct and facilitate the interplay between different stakeholders in participatory city making. She is trying to better understand how the interactions between different stakeholders can lead towards systemic change in a transition management perspective.

Emma now resides in the Industrial Design Department within the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering after completing her PhD at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies at Politecnico di Milano. During the last years she has been focusing on governance models and their interplay with the innovation of urban public services. The relevance of these processes and their potentials in fostering, enabling and driving transitions at the urban scale is still at the heart of her research activities.
