Karlheinz Samenjo is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, interested in circular design of medical product-service systems in Sub-Saharan Africa (Access to healthcare for all by circular design).

Academic Background

Samenjo Karlheinz studied Industrial Design Engineering at TU Delft, where he completed his masters in Integrated Product Design with a cum Luade. He was also one of the recipients of the TU Delft Global Initiative Sub-Saharan Africa Excellent Scholarship that brings talented students from Sub-Saharan Africa to study, built and strengthen TU Delft's relation with other Africa-based institutions. During his Master studies, he had the opportunity to work on the design and local production of several diagnostic devices in Kenya and Nigeria in collaboration with the TU Delft Global Initiative. Prior to joining TU Delft, Samenjo graduated with BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

A PhD allows Samenjo to investigate Circular design for medical product (service) systems for low resource settings in Sub-Saharan Africa.
