Academic Background
Maxim Smulders is a Technical Ergonomist and a PhD candidate on the topic of 'Sleeping in transit' at the Delft University of Technology, in the Mechatronic Design group of the Design Engineering department. During his master Integrated Product Design at the Delft University of Technology, Maxim focused on human factors and ergonomics and conducted a multitude of design and research projects in the aviation industry on seating, comfort, user-friendliness and safety. In his current position, he supervises and supports MSc students on design and research projects, with a special interest in vehicle interior comfort, ergonomics and sleep.
