Ir. Trappenburg, J.
Ir. Joep Trappenburg is a part-time Lecturer and Design Coach at the faculty of IDE. He teaches skills courses like Design Drawing and SolidWorks CAD Modelling, and coaches students in learning to become an industrial designer.
His main job is as an independent Industrial Designer, working for Dutch and international companies.
Several products in his portfolio have won design awards. His most known design (designed as a member of the Vanderveer Designers team) being the Yepp child bicycle seats for GMG (awarded with i.a. Red Dot, Eurobike Award, GIO). He is currently working on bicycle parts and professional welding torches.
His ambition is to use his design skills to help slow down climate change and support the transition to a Circular Economy. He strives to help his students become skillful and thoughtful world improvers.
