Academic Background
After graduation at the Delft TU joint Fokker Aircraft, developed composite assembly plant, later responsible for design for manufacturing and developing manufacturing capabilities. Worked one year in Japan within the JETRO/EU Manufacturing Fellowship program at heavy industry giant IHI Heavy Industry after which I joined the manufacturing practice of Coopers & Lybrand Management Consultants. In the end responsible for the Northern Europe Product Life Cycle Management Business. Since 2003 working freelance as a management consultant, supporting companies in improving product development and production processes and implementations of those. From 2006 till 2011 worked and lived in Shanghai, China, both running project and learning Mandarin. During this time I started www.design-4-sustainability.com, a platform to support designer in designing more sustainable products which inspired me to do PhD research. My topic is Sustainable Value Creation
