Dr. Xue, H.

Biography

Haian Xue is currently working at Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering as a postdoctoral researcher on the ‘Design for Mood Regulation’ project funded by NWO. The overall aim of this research project is to develop a theory that details the mechanisms that underlie mood experiences in human-design interaction and explains how design-supported mood regulation can foster human well-being.

Haian Xue acquired his Doctor of Arts (the Finnish equivalent of PhD in Design) from Aalto University (School of Arts, Design and Architecture) in Helsinki Finland in 2017. Haian Xue grew up in Xi'an and studied Industrial Design in Beijing. For the past ten years (2008-2017), he has lived and worked in Finland, the UK, and the USA as a design researcher and teacher. His research interests stand at the intersections of design, experience, well-being and strategy.
