Cehao Yu is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering. His main interests are lighting design, colour rendering, visual perception of lighting, light and colour in nature, and art.

Academic Background

Cehao Yu holds an MSc in Light and Lighting from University College London. After a five-year experience working as a lighting designer in AECOM, he develops an interest in lighting design for perception. At IDE, he explores the challenge for design researchers working with light nowadays, that is, to switch from assessing two-dimensional surface illumination to assessing light arriving at the eye.
