The faculty of Industrial Design Engineering offers three Master programmes; Design for Interaction, Integrated Product Design, and Strategic Product Design. Their differences are explained in this informing animation.
Next to the three master programmes, the faculty also offers a specilisation Medisign, where the focus is on designing for the medical world. Specific information about this specilisation and the three master programmes can be found through the links below.
Strategic Product DesignThe focus of the Strategic Product Design (SPD) Master’s programme is on the business context of product and service design. This can be the context of large international corporations, strong design consultancies, or start-up entrepreneurship.
The programme’s emphasis is on translating a company’s strategy and market opportunities into a strong product or service portfolio. SPD provides the insights and the tools to exploit business resources and market opportunities. In other words, it aims at maximising the impact of design on business and markets!
Specialisation MedisignHealthcare is one of the fastest growing industries across the world. In the West the accent is more on cure and care, in contrast to developing countries, where the accent is on prevention. But whether the emphasis is on cure or prevention, health care professionals rely on increasingly complex equipment in their work. The design of that equipment requires highly trained specialists with expertise in engineering, industrial design and medical sciences. The aim of the specialisation in Medisign is to train these specialists.
