Tips for logging onto SharePoint

If you are having problems with logging into your Sharepoint site, you will find below some tips that can help you further. 

A distinction is made between internal and external accounts.

  • Internal account = Net ID; TU Delft employee or student
  • External account= An emailed account created for guest access to the SharePoint environment

When logging into any of your accounts on non-TU Delft PCs, laptops and devices, you are always required to indicate the relevant domain.
This means you need to type “DASTUD\” before your login name.

Internal account:

1) Try to log on to https://teams.connect.tudelft.nl  to exclude problems in granted permissions to the site

2) Are you sure the password is correct?

  • Check if 'CapsLock' is switched off.
  • If you use numbers in your password check if 'NumLock' is switched on.
  • On another workplace? Verify that the keyboard has no other settings than you are used to.
  • If you have recently changed your NetID password, check whether you used this new password.
  • Make sure that you change your password to the new password on all your devices (phones, tablets).
  • After 5 attempts you will be locked out. Close your browser and wait 10 minutes before another attempt.
  • Change the password? Go to the password manager
  • Forgot the password? Go to the forgotten password service

External account

1) Try to log on to https://teams.connect.tudelft.nl  to exclude problems in granted permissions to the site

2) Are you sure the password is correct?

  • Try to copy & paste the password we send you by email. Make sure you change this password to a self-chosen password. You can change it here
  • After 5 attempts you will be locked out. Close your browser and wait 10 minutes before another attempt.
  • Change the password? Go to the SharePoint password app
  • Forgot the password? Send an email to the SharePoint Functional Administrators. Please let us know your name, account name and the site you want access to. We will reset your password and send it to you. 
  • Password Expired? Request a new password. Include your userID in your email.

Procedure external SharePoint accounts

To invite a guest to a TU Delft SharePoint site, an employee requests a guest account via your Service Desk. The following information is needed:

1. First name(s)

2. Surname

3. E-mail address

4. Company name

5. (optional) phone number

6. Name or URL of the site the account is requested for

The guest will receive 2 emails: one with a user account, one with the password. The requestor (or designated responsible person) will receive a copy of the e-mail with the useraccount.

After this, the employee can grant access to the SharePoint site and the guest should be able to log onto the site.
