Delft University Press was founded in 1972 and was recognized as a scientific publisher four years later. DUP published books, theses and scientific journals for many years. The publishing house was sold to IOS Press in 2005.
Several years later a new publishing initiative took place at TU Delft. Open access publishing platform TU Delft Open was established in 2016
The Faculty of Architecture had a major contribution in this process. Journals, dissertations and monographs were published under open access. TU Delft Library started a limited of open access journals with the OJS model.
Educational material in the form of Open textbooks was added to TU delft Open portfolio in 2018

This section contains open access journals making use of the open source software Open Journal Systems (OJS). Editors of these journals are affiliated with the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft).
- BK Journals
This section contains open access journals in the field of Architecture and the Built Environment authored edited and published by staff members of TU Delft.
- BK Books
This section contains open access books in the field of Architecture and the Built Environment authored edited and published by staff members of TU Delft. BK BOOKS also facilitates the digital distribution and open access for scholarly journals and books of selected publishers and organisations
- Open Text Books
This section contains freely accessible textbooks produced by TU Delft teachers and used in bachelor and master courses.
