Access via VPN

Access to campus network
You can use VPN (Virtual Private Network) to create a simple and safe connection with the TU Delft campus network. TU Delft offers its users three different VPN services: eduVPN, FortiClient VPN and OpenVPN. You will find more information about these services on the intranet of the TU Delft. The ICT department recommends that you start up with eduVPN every day and work as safely as if you were on campus. See also the instructions for working from home.

With the FortClient VPN your laptop will receive a campus IP-address and you will be able to access specific services. This service does not apply for all Library collections. If you want to access the e-resources of the Library you have to install the Library Access browser extension.

Access to e-resources
If you want to access databases or journals from home you have to use the Lean Library extension. If you install this extension in your browser, you will be prompted to login with your TU Delft NetID. After that you will have full access to databases (like Scopus and ScienceDirect), journals and e-books from your home address - like if you were on campus.

Please note: the extension uses a proxy login to access the e-resources. As a consequence your URLs will look a bit different. For example http://www.scopus.com will change to http://www-scopus-com.tudelft.idm.oclc.org. This change is necessary in order to direct your request to the campus proxy server. Once installed you will be able to switch the extension on and off with the Extensions option in the Settings menu of your browser.
