What is WaterLab?

WaterLab encourages a world in which knowledge institutions and companies solve questions about water by involving citizens and other interested parties in all steps of research. Through these collaborations we create more awareness, knowledge and involvement in all parties involved and at the same time we collect data for (scientific) research. The job of WaterLab is to connect these institutions and citizens to answer their questions together.

Our goals

The goal of WaterLab is to be a connection between citizens, research, and innovation and to create a dialogue between these parties. We want to achieve this by our 3 point structure: 1) by doing citizen science projects in collaboration with other, 2) by sharing the knowledge and experience we gather from these projects, and 3) by demonstrating how fun, interesting and useful doing research can be. Our goals with this are:

  • Demonstrating the value of citizen science within the scientific world.
  • Inspiring citizens to think about their influence on and control over their direct environment.
  • Introduce children and adults to science and technology.
  • Share our knowledge and experience on a non-profit base.
  • Demonstrate innovative technologies and use these technologies in citizen science projects.
