Research

My research focuses on multifunctional additively manufactured implants. These implants should simultaneously prevent implant-associated infections and improve implant longevity. We synthesize these implants by a combination of rational design, additive manufacturing and surface biofunctionalization. The functioning of these implants is then validated through extensive antibacterial and bone-promoting testing. Our multifunctional implants form a prototype of future orthopedic implants.
