Biography
Jan Willem Petersen is a spatial planner, architect, and researcher based in the Netherlands. is He is the principal and founder of Specialist Operations; an independent Amsterdam-based office for urban planning, research, and design. Petersen initiates and undertakes projects that rebuild resilient conflict-affected environments. He is a pioneering development expert on cities in conflict and and post-war reconstruction, often responding to questions derived from disciplines beyond architecture and urban planning.
