AESOP (Association of European Schools of Planning) Excellence in Teaching Award 2017 course Rethink the City. New Approaches to Global and Local Urban Challenges. 


Luz María is researcher in the Department of Management in the Built Environment at the Faculty of Architecture. Her PhD project  Managing Social Condominiums focused on the intermediary role of third sector organisations in supporting Chilean low-income homeowners in the management of their condominium housing. Her research interests are related to the role of civil society organisations in vulnerable contexts, with special attention to bottom-up initiatives, social innovation and collaborative housing. 

During 2019-2020, Luz María was involved in the research projects: Circular Economy and New Business Models in the Built Environment with the Campus Research group; and Mapping social innovation and collaboration in housing with the Co-Lab Research group

Currently, she is coordinator of the project BlendEd: Blended Education on Global Urban Perspectives, a collaboration between the Faculty of Architecture and the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) at Erasmus University, and associate editor at the journal of Housing and the Built Environment. She is part of the TU Delft Global Programme Global Urban Lab, and is coordinator and lecturer of the MOOC Rethink the City: New Approaches to Global and Local Urban Challenges, organised by the Urbanism Department at the Faculty of Architecture of TU Delft.
