Biography

Maarten is Professor of Urban Renewal and head of the Urban Studies group at the Department of Urbanism in the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Delft University of Technology. Maarten is a population geographer with a background in economic and urban geography. In 2014, Maarten was awarded a 2 million Euro ERC Consolidator Grant for a 5-year research project on neighbourhood effects ( DEPRIVEDHOODS).
