Rie is currently pursuing a PhD at  the Transport Engineering and Logistics Section of the Maritime and Transport Technology Department. She graduated with the highest possible grades as Mechanical Engineer from University of Southern Denmark, Odense in 2013 and as Mechatronics Engineer with specialization in Control and Mathematical Modelling from University of Southern Denmark, Sønderborg in 2015. She has besides a career in engineering consultancy worked with research at University of Southern Denmark, Sønderborg in 2015 and at ETH Zürich in 2016.

Rie’s research focuses on the use of control methods to achieve real time planning of freight transport. Her research interests covers:

-          Model Predictive Control

-          Synchromodal Transportation

-          Integrated control of goods and equipment

-          Control of distributed systems

Student projects

Several opportunities for student projects are available, among others:

Rie’s research is part of the project "Complexity Methods for Predictive Synchromodality" (project 439.16.120) of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).
