Biography
Dr. Zian Qin, IEEE Senior Member, is a tenured Assistant Professor, and university docent 1 (UD1) at TU Delft. He is specialized in electronic power grid systems, including modelling, simulation, power quality and stability. He is a member of IEEE Standard Committee PEL/SC/SST/3105 (Solid State Transformer) and PEL/SC/VSM/2988 (Virtual Synchronous Machine). He is also a member of IEEE PELS TC 8 (Technical Committee on Electronic Power Grid Systems). He is an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, a guest associate editor of IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, and a guest associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion. He serves/served as a tutorial chair of PEDG 2022, topic chair of ICDCM 2021, technical program chair of ISIE 2020, technical program co-chair of IEEE-COMPEL 2020, industrial session co-chair of ECCE-Asia 2020, topic chair of ECCE 2020, and topic chair of ECCE 2019. He received the B.Sc. degree from Beihang University, Beijing, China, in 2009, the M.Sc. degree from Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China, in 2012, and the Ph.D. degree from Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark, in 2015, all in electrical engineering. In 2014, he was a Visiting Scientist in the Institute for Power Generation and Storage Systems, Aachen University, Aachen, Germany.
