Academic Counsellors 3mE

Dear students,

During the summer period, we will not be available as usual. This means that less appointment options are available and therefore, waiting periods will be longer.

Consultation hours

From Friday 15 July until Friday 12 August, there will be no consultation hours (neither the phone nor the walk-in hours at 3mE). By e-mail, we will remain available, except for the weeks where we will be closed entirely, and meeting options are also available.

From Wednesday 27 July until Friday 5 August, we will be closed entirely. This means that we are not available by e-mail and no meeting options are available.

If you have any pressing matters to discuss with us, make sure to book an appointment in time before the summer period starts or make use of the current consultation hours.

In case of emergency:

  • In life-threatening situations call 112, in case of suicidal ideation call 113 or 0800-0113 (only for calls in the Netherlands), otherwise chat on;
  • There is an emergency number within TU Delft that you can call 24 hours a day on +31 15 - 278 88 88.

Do not hesitate to consult these sources when you are in danger.

From 15 August onwards

From Monday 15 August onwards, there will be phone consultation hours and walk-in hours at 3mE again on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The consultation hours on Wednesdays and Fridays will not be held for an unforeseen period.

Frequent e-mail replies and appointments will start again from Monday 15 August.

We wish you a wonderful summer and a good start of the new academic year 2022-2023!

Kind regards,

The 3mE academic counsellors (Lourdes, Evert, Peggy, Pauline, and Elisa)

The academic counsellors can advise you on both personal and study related matters. Because of our independent position, you can speak to us confidentially on all sorts of subjects. Please consult this webpage to find out more about our work and counselling at the faculty of 3ME.

Consultation hours

The phone consultation hours and walk-in consultation hours are meant for short questions. During a consultation hour, an academic counsellor can take roughly 10 minutes to answer your questions.

Please book an individual appointment if you need more time, because you would like to discuss personal circumstances or a detailed study schedule, for instance. If during a consultation hour it turns out that you may need more time, the academic counsellor can propose to make an appointment.

Please consult this webpage before contacting us. Your contact with an academic counsellor is also confidential during consultation hours.

Individual appointments

Appointments are meant to discuss subjects that require a bit more time, such as personal circumstances or drawing up a detailed study schedule. You can book an appointment yourself via our online appointment system; there are two options you can choose from:

  1. Studieadviseur (academic counsellor) on campus
  2. Studieadviseur (academic counsellor) online

The availability depends on the meeting type; if you schedule an on-campus meeting, you cannot indicate that you’d like to (video)call via Teams in the remarks; for that, you can book a meeting during one of the available online meetings.

During an appointment, an academic counsellor can take roughly 30 minutes to speak to you. Of course, you can have one or more follow-up meetings after that.

If you have only a short question, we would like to ask you to use a consultation hour or send an e-mail. That way, a student who does require a bit more help, can book their appointment at an earlier point in time.

In case of illness or other personal circumstances that might affect your study, it is important to inform the academic counsellors as soon as possible! If you don’t, it may affect your chances to apply for (financial) support or requests to the Board of Examiners.
