Short stay / internship / other options abroad
If you want to go abroad, but are not interested in an exchange with one of our partner universities, maybe the following options are interesting for you!
Please mind that these options are not facilitated by the International Office of the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment.
At the international office at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, we can sign the following forms for you:
- Vaccination allowance form (please bring the form and a confirmation that the period abroad is for studies)
- OV-card allowance form (information and form on website of DUO)
- Athens Week application form
Please bring the printed forms with you when you come to our office during open office hours ( BG.Oost.240).

- You should always register your stay abroad in OSIRIS.
- You shouldn't forget to register for a Travel Safety Training if you go abroad for a longer period (internship e.g.) or if you go to an area which is indicated with a Safety code yellow.
- Upon return
Upon return you have to fill in the form ‘Academic achievements abroad’ in order to transfer the credit points you obtained abroad.

The IDEA League, founded in 1999, is a strategic alliance among five leading European universities of technology, science and engineering, committed to bringing science to society. The five member institutions are: Delft University of Technology, ETH Zurich, RWTH Aachen University, Chalmers University of Technology and Politecnico di Milano, which has entered the network in March 2016.

The Global Engineering Education Exchange is a consortium approximately 70 schools of engineering, 35 of which are in the United States. This consortium provides exchange opportunities for Bachelor (and some Master) engineering students to study abroad for a semester or year at one of these 70 institutions.
Central International Office of the TU Delft facilitates this programme, however we should nominate you. Please contact us if interested!
Advanced Technology Higher Education Network, Socrates. The ATHENS Programme intends to give students a taste of another European educational system and immerses them into courses of a high scientific level. This experience may give students the desire to participate in other types of exchanges to the major European technological institutions.
