Application at host university

Nomination International Office

Selection by the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering means that we will nominate you to our partner university. Either we or the host university will then email the application/registration forms or information to you. Once we have nominated you, we expect you to act, independently and actively. Visit the host university’s website and investigate their application procedure and deadlines. Take action if and when necessary. Read all their information carefully before you decide to send them your questions. It is your own responsibility to meet the application deadline.

When we nominate you, you will receive an email about this and we will also bring you in contact with students from last year who went to 'your university'.

Application

The host university may have different requirements for the application than the faculty does. So, please adjust your application documents (motivation letter, CV, portfolio, etcetera) to the requirements of the host. Remember to adjust your motivation letter to the host university. If you mentioned several options for exchange in your letter for the faculty selection, don't forget to remove the options for which you were not selected!

If applications must be sent by regular post, always send them through the International Office. Do not wait until the very last day and if you have any questions: come to one of our walk-in hours. Your registration with the partner university will only be official when you have received their admission letter / letter of acceptance. Keep in mind that our partner universities work with strict deadlines!

Most partner universities ask for a ‘proof of English’. We will make official statements that are accepted by most universities. These statements will be mailed to you by us in time. If you have an early application deadline, or you are going to Australia, let us know. There is a slightly different procedure. Some universities only accept official tests like TOEFL or IELTS. Check if this is the case, by looking into the student reports.

For some applications a ‘Transcript of Records’ (ToR) is needed. You can get yours at the Service Desk of our faculty. You should ask for a Transcript of Records including your GPA (if required) and it should be signed and stamped. The Transcript of Records is an official document which shows your grades, GPA and study progress.

Please note: Our nomination does not automatically mean that you will be accepted by the host university. Very occasionally a host universities may turn down an application. Your placement abroad is only final once it has been accepted by the host university.
