Study Abroad Week
In October the Study Abroad information week takes place. During this week you can visit the information market in the central hall of IDE. At the information market you can find information about all our partner universities, the procedures, scholarships etc. Students who have been on exchange will also be present to answer your questions about exchange. We also give several presentations about going on exchange, doing an internship or Project XL abroad.
IDE has over 50 Partner Universities worldwide! We exchange students with our partner universities, so you will be a student at TU Delft and only pay tuition fee here. Partner universities may have different approaches and courses than IDE. Industrial Design Engineering is a wide field of study. Some partner universities will focus more on design/technical aspects/automotive/sustainability/etc. We advise you to read the websites of the universities you are interested in and read the student reports; this will give you a good understanding of what a university has to offer.
All students write a travel/exchange report. The reports give you information about the courses, housing, finances and everything else there is to know about an exchange programme.
On Brightspace you can find also information; Please enroll in the course Exchange IDE . You can find movies, posters and reports on new partners. When enrolled you can find this information on Exchange IDE > Content > Partneruniversities.
Bachelor - As a bachelor student you can do the Minor Study Abroad IDE (30 ECTS) in the first semester of your third year. At the moment you register for an exchange programme (deadlines 15 December and 1 September) you need to have completed your first year and you need to be a 2nd or 3rd year student. The Minor is usually not a fixed programme and will be determined before and during your exchange. You will have contact with the International Office IDE and the course coordinator to determine your courses.
Master - Master students can go on exchange in their third semester (Master Elective Study Abroad, 30 ECTS). At the moment you start your exchange programme, you need to meet the general requirements for starting your third semester: you have obtained at least 30 ECTS of your first master year. The master elective study abroad is usually not a fixed programme and will be determined before and during your exchange. You will have contact with the International Office IDE and the course coordinator to determine your courses. For more information on the IDE MSc programmes click: DfI, IPD and SPD.
