There are several sites that offer cheap flights and student discounts. It is sometimes cheaper to depart from other airports than Schiphol, like Rotterdam Airport, Dusseldorf or Frankfurt. Keep in mind that you need to make additional transport costs to that specific airport. Also check the departure and arrival times, because these can be inconvenient.

Visa
If you are a Dutch citizen, you do not need a visa or work permit for countries within the European Union. For countries outside the European Union mostly you will need a visa or work permit. This differs per country. The university abroad often guides incoming students through the visa application process. More information about visa can be found on the Nuffic website. In case Nuffic doesn't provide the visa information for some countries, you can visit the website of the foreign embassy in the Netherlands or the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
