1788 - Project Engineer

(hardware and software)

The company

This innovative and fast-growing company in the offshore wind industry develops motion compensation solutions such as platforms, cranes and gangways for the maritime and offshore industry.

From 2023, the company will contribute to the construction of, among other things, offshore wind farms off the east coast of the United States with an innovative solution: a motion-compensated feeder solution. This is a floating installation for the stable and safe supply of wind turbine components. To this end, they are launching a new-build program that requires a significant expansion of their operational and technical teams.

The job

You mainly develop yourself on-the-job in a team that gets the job done together. There will be support from more experienced engineers from the start.

The construction of two new feeder solutions initially will be a large part of your responsibilities. You oversee this development project from A to Z, including quality, budget and planning. The technical details can be worked out by specialized engineering firms.
As soon as the new installations have been developed, you supervise their construction. You ensure that materials and personnel are available at the right time and that all construction drawings are ready for production. For example, in the morning you prepare import documentation and in the afternoon you make calculations for welding work that you will supervise on site the next day.

In addition to your tasks related to the new construction, you also supervise various offshore operations from start to finish. This includes export, work preparation, logistics, making lifting plans and maintaining contact with the operators who work with the installations offshore.

The tasks for this position are too diverse to list them all here. We can tell you much more.
A glimpse of your responsibilities:

  • Setting up and monitoring a well-considered and efficient project planning and budget.
  • Review electrical, hydraulic, software and fabrication documentation of subcontractors.
  • Writing and reviewing test procedures, working methods and system documentation.
  • Managing and (if necessary) on-site supervision of the assembly, installation and (de)mobilization of installations.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and acceptance tests with subcontractors.

Do you want to work in the exciting offshore wind industry that contributes to the energy transition?
