Dr.ir. I.K. (Ioanna) Kourounioti

Profile

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and MSc in Coastal Engineering from the University of Southampton in the UK. I completed my PhD thesis in Greece at the University of the Aegean where I focused on the implementation of behavioural models to port container terminals. Currently, I hold a PostDoc position in TBM and my research mostly focuses on freight transportation modelling.

Research

In my PhD research I developed discrete choice models predicting the dwell time and the pick-up time-of-day at port container terminals. Currently, I continue my research on identifying and modelling the decisions and the relations developed between the different actors of the supply chain.
