A.R. (Arry Rahmawan) Destyanto
Arry Rahmawan Destyanto is a permanent researcher at Systems Engineering, Modeling, and Simulation Laboratory Universitas Indonesia, especially in Serious Simulation Gaming Area since 2015. He obtained his bachelor and master degree from Industrial Engineering Department, Universitas Indonesia. In his career as researcher, he and his peers established simulation gaming research group called Signifier Games to promote the empowerment of simulation games in the context of education, professional training, and policy making in Indonesia.
Starting from September 2019, he started as a PhD Student in TU Delft and obtained grant from Indonesia government for developing and investigate to what extent simulation gaming contributes as intervention tool for achieving equitable inter-island port development in Indonesia. The project become his main PhD Project thesis under the supervision of prof. dr ir. Alexander Verbraeck.
The Indonesia government sponsors his current research in TU Delft under the project name of "MAGPORT" – Multi Actor Games of Port Development. The project objective is to design specific simulation games for complex system analysis and intervention purpose for inter-island port development planning. The focus of this research is to develop competencies for Indonesia port-planning stakeholders in facing any complexities, disruptions, and future uncertainties causing by inter-island port routing connection in order to achieve sustainable and equitable inter-island port development, using simulation game approach.
