Drs. A.E. (Annebeth) Erdbrink

Profile

Annebeth Erdbrink is a PhD candidate at the Policy Analysis section of the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management.
She holds a master’s degree in both Social Psychology (2008) and Information Studies (track Game Studies, 2016) at the University of Amsterdam.
Her extensive professional experience in the cultural sector brings societal relevance to her research, which focuses on the design of playful solutions connecting arts with society.

Research

Annebeth’s research is part of the GAMPSISS project (GAmeful Music Performances for Smart, Inclusive and Sustainable Societies) and focuses on the development and evaluation of playful classical music performances that foster an active listening culture that promotes smart, inclusive and sustainable societies.

Through artistic, analytical and design oriented research the GAMPSISS project aims to:

  1. explore listening cultures in the context of classical music performances
  2. identify their relevance on a personal and societal level
  3. determine how current listening culture can be modified and
  4. develop and evaluate playful, music performances that foster an active listening culture that promotes smart, inclusive and sustainable societies.
