I am a sociologist of non-western countries from Leiden University. I lived many years abroad, Caribbean, Asia, Middle East, before returning to the Netherlands and started to work as a social researcher at the faculty of Aerospace Engineering TU Delft.
In Oman I researched the environments, the preferences, the achievements and the attainments of Omani senior high school students.

The last 15 years I worked as project manager in Audit and on Safety and Security issues at the department of Legal Services. Before that, I worked in HSE department of TU Delft among others as Quality Manager. I have been composing TU Delft’s Safety & Security risk profiles as from the start (2012) and coordinated projects of risks management at the TU Delft Campus and risks in TU Delft overcrowded lecture rooms.
Now I am retired and work in the section as a guest researcher and have started my PhD research on Safety & Security Risk Management of subpopulations and special groups in the Netherlands and Surinam.

I participated in the H2020 project NewHorrizon Social Labs organized the workshop; Disseminating RRI in the Research and Innovation Community of the Green Village at Delft University of Technology.
During COVID-19 I organized a webinar cycle “Connecting across Border; growth of knowledge and friendship” on topics related to inequalities.
