E. (Erwin) Boering
Erwin Boering (1962) studied Petroleum Engineering at Delft University of Technology. After his graduation he joined an international drilling contractor for which he worked 12 years in a range of operational and managerial positions on oil and gas drilling projects in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
In 2001 Erwin joined a large oil company for which he has since worked on oil- and gas projects in the Netherlands, Russia, China and South-Korea. His current posting is in one of the largest shipyards in the world where drill ships are being fabricated and commissioned.
Throughout his international assignments, Erwin has always had a keen interest making sure his teams were leaders in the field of persona-l and process safety. This interest has led him to commence, as an external PhD candidate, to do research on the application of cultural sociology to successfully implement universal safety initiatives worldwide (‘using culture to implement structure’).
Erwin is married to Wiep-Fenna with whom he has three grown up children.
