Rico Herzog is Best Graduate 2020 of TPM

The Delft University Fund has announced the eight TU Delft Best Graduates 2021. Rico Herzog is best graduate of TPM and will vie for the TU Delft Best Graduate award with his thesis 'Cities for Citizens: Identification of Public Values and their Conflicts in Urban Space'. On 11 November the eight brand new engineers from the faculties will present their excellent graduation theses during the TU Delft Best Graduate Award Ceremony 2021.

Het College van Bestuur heeft Prof. dr. Stephane Hess benoemd tot deeltijd (0,1 fte) hoogleraar bij de afdeling ESS van de faculteit TBM, op het gebied van Decision modelling, artificial intelligence (AI) and mobility research. Hij start op 1 november en is aangesteld voor een periode van vijf jaar.

New method helps identifying murder suspects more quickly

Delft PhD student Daan Sutmuller has developed a new, effective method in collaboration with the police that supports homicide investigation teams in collecting and prioritising interesting persons in the investigation more quickly. The promising method should make the investigation work more manageable and ensure that more homicide cases are solved. Sutmuller obtains his doctorate this Thursday with his dissertation 'Murder investigation in the digital age'.

TU Delft develops helpful cost guidelines for carbon capture

Het afvangen en opslaan van CO2 is een van de vele technologieën die nodig zijn om klimaatverandering tegen te gaan. De technologie is beschikbaar en wordt al in diverse projecten toegepast, maar nog niet op wereldwijde schaal toegepast. Het gebrek aan kennis over de kosten van CO2-afvang en -opslag (CCS) kan ertoe leiden dat investeerders zich terugtrekken. Een wereldwijd consortium van twaalf onderzoekers op het gebied van CCS, onder leiding van Andrea Ramirez van de TU Delft, heeft samengewerkt aan een uitgebreide whitepaper. Het whitepaper helpt te begrijpen hoe de kosten van projecten voor CO2-afvang en -opslag correct kunnen worden geraamd.
