Are you interested to learn more about frontier innovation thinking and practices? The LDE minor Frugal Innovation for Sustainable Global Development offers in-depth insight into how and under which conditions frugal innovation can be accomplished and contribute to sustainable global development.
Minor Technology-Based EntrepreneurshipEC: 30 | Language: Dutch | Selection minor | Maximum participants: 100
This minor prepares you for entrepreneurship in the broadest sense. Entrepreneurship is understood as entrepreneurial action and setting up new business within existing organizations and starting one's own company.
Minor Security, Safety & Justice (LD)EC: 30 | Language: English | Non-Selection minor | Maximum participants: 60
How do we protect our society against terrorism? Can we secure the complex world of cyberspace? Are self-driving cars safe enough? Who is responsible if something goes wrong? How do we balance surveillance and privacy? This minor will provide you with the basic academic knowledge to understand the background of these questions better. The emphasis in the minor lies on the security element.
Minor Responsible Innovation (LDE)EC: 30 | Language: English | Non-Selection minor | Maximum participants: 30
Successful companies innovate and innovation can bring a lot of good to society, but it may harm as well. The challenge is to innovate in a responsible way: beneficial both to business and society. Then many stakeholders and many aspects have to be addressed so an interdisciplinary approach is needed. During this minor you will be introduced to the technical, managerial and socio-economic principles that govern innovation, and discuss ethical and other conditions for innovating responsibly.

MedTech continues to be a relevant high growth, high impact sector. The world needs an untold number of healthcare solutions at many levels and markets for the foreseeable future. Plus, with the CV19 burden, other areas of medicine must become an order of magnitude more efficient.
Minor Companies and Value-Sensitive InnovationEC: 30 | Non-Selection minor | Maximum participants: 60
The Minor ‘Companies and Value-Sensitive Innovation’ focuses on new (high-technology) product innovations within established companies, i.e. regular R&D, as well as internal venturing or corporate entrepreneurship, by examining their potential values from diverse aspects such as finance, (innovation) management, strategy, ethics, safety and risk.

How to manage and work on a technology-related project in a different cultural and institutional setting? This minor program allow you to work abroad to develop technical solutions for complex challenges that will contribute to socioeconomic development.
