Udo Pesch has been involved in several research projects that focused on the responsible innovation in the energy transition. The findings of these projects pointed towards the need to attend justice, meaningful participation and values in the development and implementation of new energy technologies that serve the energy transition.

Martin Sand has development to a more nuanced concept of responsibility (with Ibo van de Poel), has discussed how luck affects the responsible governance of science and technology (edited with Samantha Copeland), and compared Technology Assessment and RRI as governance leitbilder. He emphasized the importance of virtues for RRI.

Steffen Steinert focuses on emotions, values and technology. He is involved in a research project on the constructive role of emotions in responsible design. Together with Sabine Roeser, Steffen has investigated how emotions can facilitate responsible innovation and the importance of emotions and art for ethical reflection on technology.
