Emeritus Prof.dr. W.A.G.A. (Harry) Bouwman


Harry Bouwman is full Professor at Åbo Akademi University, Finland and Associate Professor at TU Delft, The Netherlands.  He also has been a Finnish Distinguished Professor from 201-2015. He is managing co-editor of Telematics & Informatics and senior editor of Electronic Markets. He extensively published in academic journals like Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, European Journal of Innovation Management, Futures, Information & Management, Interacting with Computers, Information Systems and E-Business Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Information Systems Frontiers, Journal of Information Technology, Quality and Quantity, and Telecommunications Policy

He served as an interim chair of the ICT-section in the period 2000-2002, in 2004 and from 2007- 2009. He studied political science at the Free University of Amsterdam (1979). He is specialized in research methods and techniques, statistic and communication sciences. He followed courses in the domain of Computer Science at the Open University (1985-86). He received his PhD at Catholic University Nijmegen in 1986 at the Faculty of Social Science.  


Currently Harry Bouwman is leading and engaged in H2020 project. Envision. The ENVISION project aims at activating small businesses to innovate their business models. ENVISION gathers nine partners and their European wide networks to support business model innovation in 20 million European SMEs. Business model innovation can be the key to becoming or staying competitive. To support European competitiveness and job creation, the ENVISION project aims at activating small and medium sized enterprises (SME) across Europe to re-think and transform their business models with the help of an easy-to-use, open-access web platform. Through this platform, every small or medium company, regardless of the country, sector or industry, will be guided in selecting the right tools for their business make over. Research focus on quantitative analyses as well as on case studies.
