Martijn Warnier

Top international researcher

Dr Martijn Warnier (1976) is Assistant Professor in Systems Engineering at TU Delft. His expertise involves the design of computer systems to manage large-scale distributed systems.

“My real passion lies in the technical challenges these kinds of complex systems present. It is great to create order in the chaos! I am also interested in the interplay between fundamental research, practical application and social relevance, as well as our multidisciplinary approach. In order to understand large-scale and complex systems, you need to observe them from various perspectives. At TPM, we excel in that, because our approach combines policy, the law and technology. We also look beyond our own boundaries because we work together with other faculties. This collaboration with specialists from lots of different fields is exciting and fun and I am continually learning new things from it.”
